MAIN ISLANDS

Santa Cruz: It is the most populated island of the Galapagos and second in size. On it you will find the Scientific Station Charles Darwin (1964), which will give you information about the islands. The visitors can also approach and take colorful pictures of the giant turtles.
You can also visit the solidified lava tunnels, Tubos de Lava, the Crocker Hill, a natural watchtower of 860 meters that allow you to observe the flora and the Reserva Tortuga, place in which turtles are in absolute freedom.

Plaza Sur: Iguanas, hundreds of birds nesting in the cliffs, sea lions, and a cactus forest, turn this small island of 13 hectares, in a weird and fascinating destination.

Santiago: Landscapes of volcanic rock, seals, flamencos and sparrow hawks, are more than enough reasons for you to visit the Sullivan Bay, the Bucanero creek, the Espumilla beach and the Egas port, that are part of this island.

Isabela: It is the island of greater size in the Galapagos, with an extension of 4600 squared kilometers. Of particular interest are its volcanic activity, nonflying cormorants, penguins, flamingos, giant turtles and iguanas. To watch them you have to go Cerro Azul (1690 ms), the Wolf (1645 ms), Darwin (1280 ms), the Alcedo (1097 ms) and Santo Tomas (1490 ms.).

Floreana: In the 18th Century, whalers used to leave the mail in this island. In Punta Cormoran, one of its disembarkation ports, you can find a pretty lagoon inhabited by flamingos, or appreciate a semi-submerged volcanic cone, La Corona del Diablo, which is also a suitable site for diving.

Espaņola: To watch the albatross of the Galapagos and other birds that can only be seen here is the main attraction of this island. But you will also see small lizards and sea iguanas resting peacefully on the rocks.

San Cristobal: The second most populated island of the Galapagos is connected to other islands by port Baquerizo Moreno, were you can visit the museum of the Franciscans. To obtain a panoramic view climb the rock Leon Dormido,

NATURAL ATTRACTIONS

Flora: In Galapagos 220 species of plants have been identified, 399 are natives and 119 have been brought from abroad. There are six areas of vegetation: the coast, with plants like swamps and myrtles that tolerate high salt levels; the barren one, where cactus grow; the transition area, with perennial grass and small shrubs; the humid discharge where carob trees, fungi and guava trees can be seen; miconia, used for the cultivation of coffee, oranges and other fruits; and the highest zone, dominated by ferns and sedges.

Fauna: The main reason for the scientific and tourist interest in the Galapagos Islands is its varied fauna, and the easiness with which it can be observed. The giant turtles are one of the its most known species: in the archipelago you will see 11 of the 14 original subspecies.
You will also be delighted by the sight of booby blue legs, Darwin's chaffinch, frigates, marine and terrestrial iguanas, marine wolves and lions. Be sure that you have never seen anything like it.
