To discover the Ecuadorian nature is to be surprised and overwhelmed by the ecological santuary of the Galapagos Islands. It is to visit their coasts covered with rainy forests and tropical savannas. It is to contemplate the infinite moors from the magnificent snowy picks of the Mountain range of the Andes.

One of the main natural attractions of Ecuador is the Galapagos Islands, whose name means "land of turtles." This archipelago, resting in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, is of volcanic origin and was formed millions of years ago. Unvisited by man until very recently, it is one of the few places in the world where animals are not afraid of men.

It constitutes a memorable experience to swim playfully with the peaceful marine wolves or to dive near the corals. We want to protect the virginal quality of the islands, so be careful not to bring in any foreign elements, as seeds -for example, that may contain spores and could alter this very delicate ecosystem.

In the coast, that has an area of 4,817 km, the swamps, habitat of fish, oysters, lobsters, crabs, clams and other crustaceans are noticeable. Near the beaches the extraction of shrimps is carried out, and is the main work source for hundred of residents.
