To rest in the sand, to listen the delicate whisper of the wind, to enjoy the golden sunbeams, to dive in the waters of the Pacific, they are the pleasant activities in those that you will occupy most of their time, while their demurrage lasts in the North Coast.
But, if you are one of those who believe that pleasure is in variety, you can choose from many hotels and spas or look for tiny fishing towns full of spice and colour.
SPAS & ISLANDS
Atacames: It is 30 kilometres away from Esmeraldas, capital city of the county of the same name and the most important city in the North Coast. It receives the visit of numerous national and foreign tourists who choose to enjoy its beauty and pools, in spite of its treacherous waters and the snakes that maraud in its shores.
Sua: Here you can buy the fish you will have from lunch straight from the fishermen, while agitation reigns and hungry pelicans search for a mouthful.
Same: Close to Sua is this beach that, in the opinion of many, is the most beautiful in the area, and where you can find the most luxurious and comfortable hotels.
Muisne: is a tropical island located 83 kilometers of Emeralds. Its beaches, bucolic and solitary, are ideal for you if you are looking for the interior peace that will reconcile you with the world.
Beach of Tarqui: it is in Blanket (county of Manabi). In this place, which receives many visitors, fishermen discharge tunas, sharks, turtles and eels.
Beach Bat: Because of its good and frequent waves, it is ideal beach of surfers. It is located to the west of Blankets.
Island of Silver: The pre-Hispanic culture Jocay (who flourished in what now is Blanket) had here its ceremonial center. It owes its actual name to the pirate Francis Drake who disembarked in the Island with the silver he had taken from a Spanish galleon. Turtles and marine birds inhabit the place, where you can also find the Spondylus oysters, which were sacred and at the same time were used as money in the old foreseeing times.
National park Machalilla: It was created in the county of Manabi to protect the dry tropical forest in which several spices of birds nest. The park also includes a coastal fringe and two islands.
