The land of infinite greenery is born in the oriental hillside of the Ecuadorian Andes. Weather here is characterized by the unbearable heat and the persistent rains -with rays and thunders - that make bigger the bed of the mythical Amazon river.
Anthropological and historical studies conclude that the Amazon forest was inhabited by man in the year 10.000 B.C. At the present time, there are six ethnical groups in the Ecuadorian Orient: the quichuas (predominantly related to the Andean people), the shuar, achuar, huaroni (nomads), siona-secoya and cofan.
